On the 24th of September we had mini film festival, organised primarily by Alvero and Grace of Aramitan.
The children’s matinee screening was of Labyrinth which is a 1986 British/American fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, starring David Bowie and some of his songs.
Later in the evening Dirt: The Movie directed and produced by Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow; talks about the wonders of soil and the impact that humans have on it
The afternoon was lovely with around 25 children arriving with family members in tow; and as they were all a bit early a big skipping rope was pulled out and served as great entertainment as well as a story for those who preferred to wait inside.
Once the technology problems had been solved the movie began; everyone was snuggled up on sofas, bean bags and cushions; bowls of popcorn were shared around. Everyone seemed to enjoy the fun and music of the movie.
After it finished most of the children happily went home; later older family members and more adults arrived; we enjoyed a delicious soup together before the movie commenced.
All in all it was a great day enjoyed by everyone.
